Makeup loves for May 2016 (The Travel Edition)

It Cosmetics You SculptedIt is the dawn of May, a month where you start to feel a taste of summer with warm winds blowing through your hair, and a time when you start planning for your seasonal getaways — whether it is to the beach or an African safari. A lot of my customers are starting to stock up on little things like mini dry shampoos and tiny bottles of their favorite skincare stuff. This edition of May loves is dedicated to the little things.

It Cosmetics “You Sculpted” Contouring Palette

I never knew how much I’d love this palette. I usually never leave the house without contouring (once you start, you can’t stop), and I wanted a quick palette to take with me on client jobs and on vacation. You literally get warm and cool shades of brown, as well as matte and shimmering highlight powders. Highly pigmented, you will find these finely milled powders are easy to blend and will serve a multitude of purposes. I used it on my eyes for a nude eyeshadow look, then took a deep dive into the dark contour for a dramatic cheekbone contour from the gods! Sorry Anastasia, but I am putting you away for a little while! This shatter-resistant packaging will be a plus for the jet-setting gals who don’t want to pack all of their bronzers! (Cruelty-free brand!)

Moroccanoil Dry ShampooMoroccanoil Dry Shampoo – 1.7 oz. (A version for light hair and for dark hair)

Fans of the Moroccanoil brand will love this purse-sized dry shampoo with Argan oil for quick style touch ups and root refreshing. Feeling a little icky on the plane ride? Spritz a little of this to lift your roots (and your spirits). (Moroccanoil may test on animals since it is sold in China. I also suggest the Aveda Dry Shampoo!)

Whish Ammo SetWhish Ammo Coconut Milk Set – Each bottle is 1.7 oz.

Yassss! This cruelty-free brand has my animal-loving heart. I went nuts for the Whish CC Cream with its gorgeous coconut milk scent and the 24 karat gold sheen that it adorns my body with. People will literally stop you to ask what that glow is on your body. Perfect for creating a supermodel illusion on the legs! You can’t forget the sunless tanner, though! This gradual tanning product goes on invisible and gives you a slow and steady tan with daily use. Also included is the infamous hair-inhibiting shave cream (yes, you heard me right!) with natural firming ingredients to keep that skin looking tight and right!

Take all of these with you to Palm Springs, baby! (Whish is proudly not testing on animals!)

Molton Brown Travel KitMolton Brown Ladies’ Carry-on Set

If you’ve experienced Molton Brown before, you’d know the products smell dee-vine! This fun little carry-on kit includes everything you need (except for hair contitioner, WTF?) including Gingerlily body wash, hand cream, body polisher, body lotion, and Indian Cress purifying shampoo. I guess if you really need a travel-sized conditioner, try the Serge Normant 2 oz Meta Velour conditioner packed with vegetable protein to strengthen hair.  (Molton Brown is cruelty-free, but is a subsidiary of a company that isn’t compliant).

Coola Travel KitCOOLA Suncare Travel Kit

Hopefully you have sunscreen on your list of items to bring on your trip. I am a total super fan of COOLA, and I love this lil’ kit! These TSA-approved sun-fighting essentials include the Cucumber SPF 30 Moisturizer, the Sport SPF 30 Pina Colada Spray, the Liplux SPF 30 lip protectant, and the must-have ER+ Radical Recovery After Sun Lotion for those accidental sunburns and wind burns to help soothe inflammation. All paraben-free! Woot! (COOLA doesn’t test on furry loves!)

Caudalie Travel KitCaudalie ‘Favorites’ Limited Edition Skincare Set

If you’re dying to try something new for your skin, I highly suggest the French brand Caudalie. This kit of mini wonders is under $40, and it is all pretty impressive for the price. You’ll get generous trial bottles of the following products: The Beauty Elixir Spray — totally to-die-for toner spray that will work well as an aftershave for your beau, and a refreshing complexion pick-me-up for you. Micellar Cleansing Water — Just a cotton round and a dab of this micellar water will help remove makeup and feel super calming, especially after spending a day in the sun. Instant Detox Mask — After a night of margaritas and lack of sleep, this amazing mask will detox your skin and awaken it to a brand new glow. Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet — Day and night, apply this miraculous moisturizer. I can’t even describe how nice this stuff feels. I see a full-size bottle in my future. Premier Cru Eye Cream– With anti-aging grapeseed extract, this eye cream fades dark circles and combats puffiness. This entire skincare kit is in my bathroom and I love every piece of it!

(What bums me out is that Caudalie tests on animals in China… just that ONE thing that they could change! Dang it Chinese government!)

Well, there you have it my friends. I am excited about celebrating my 1st wedding anniversary with the hubs this summer…not sure where we will go yet, but I know what I’m bringing!
