We finally entered into a new year, and I’ve been sitting at home with viral pneumonia for two weeks… hope you are having better luck with your health than I have! While being sick, you have a ton of time to sit and ponder. I can’t really walk anywhere or leave the house just yet, so I’ve been doing a lot of sitting, thinking, and planning. I’ve lost 10 lbs since being sick, and I am afraid it is probably all muscle since I haven’t really skipped too many meals. I’ve been enjoying ordering Mountain Mike’s pizza online with gluten-free crust with Indian chicken. It is delicious and probably not too bad for me. The fact that I’ve eaten it twice in a week and still lost weight sort of assures me that it wasn’t too bad. I joined a weight loss group on Facebook, which seems to be pretty motivational, especially since I NEED to get fit for my wedding this summer. Yes, it is that time. This is my bridal year! My Pinterest board is filled with a lot of “dream” wedding ideas, but plans are shifting as I become more aware that my finances aren’t going to allow me to have an outdoor crystal chandelier hanging above the wedding party table.
So besides trying to get in the best shape of my life (thanks pneumonia for screwing up my Richard Simmons workout plan), I have been bugging cosmetics and skincare companies to send me some goods. My efforts have worked beyond belief. NYX cosmetics sent me a box of 50 products, some of which are new for spring 2015, and amazing. The Pantone color of the year is Marsala, and one of my most favorite colors…looks good on everyone, too. I’ve received several eye shadows in this color as samples and it really does bring out amazing blue tones in my eyes. You need to step into a CVS or Walgreens soon to check out how amazing the drugstore cosmetics game is becoming. They’re on point, and even cheap brands like Jordana have long-wear velvet lip colors that have surprised me.
Oh, and we have a new dog! I found Petey, my Catahoula Leopard dog on a rescue website, and we brought him home in September. He’s 9 months old now and probably weighing in at 60 lbs! He’s the biggest puppy ever! When we brought him home, he was 30 lbs, and I thought that was big back then! He’s totally doubled in size, and dare I say he is a freaking whale! I have him eating a raw diet (frozen pellets) and he’s not really excited about the raw meaty bones at all, but we’ll get there. Plus, it is gross to see him eat the bones outside and they become encrusted in dirt and rocks. He’s destroyed EVERY store-bought toy already and even the fire hose toy was “unstuffed” last weekend. The Kong is lasting pretty well, but he mainly wants bones and deer antlers. It looks like a graveyard in my living room. I did step on a deep antler with bare feet and I thought I was going to die.
Every year I say I’m going to do video tutorials, and this and that, and it never happens. I need this to be the year when stuff happens. I have a lot going on with the wedding and the new crazy puppy, but I’ll do what I can to figure this out.
Hope everyone is having a great year so far!
