Week recap:Barbie necklace and red lipstick love

All girls need a role model. Mine happens to be plastic and a... on Twitpic Sometimes you need a Barbie necklace the size of a license plate. I had ordered the most amazing Ariel Little Mermaid tank top and leggings (at Hot Topic) these eyes have ever seen. Call me crazy, but I found no issue being a 36 year old woman wearing this to the corporate office. Although I did get a few glares here and there, I was standing next to an engineer who was wearing a My Little Pony t-shirt bursting with rainbows and pony goodness and nobody blinked an eye. Whatevs. Hot Topic was also having a sale on buy one get one free on select necklaces. I saw the Barbie necklace online and I just had to have one. I did NOT know it was HUGE. Take a look at the size of the thing on my TwitPic to the left here. What the hell!? Huge, but I love it.

@wetnwildbeauty 970 lipstick, @flowerbeauty mascara, @TargetS... on TwitpicYou know, some people have no issues wearing red lipstick daily. I personally feel that when I wear it, I have to babysit my lips, making sure the color isn’t feathering or that I’ve accidentally smeared it across my face ala Courtney Love. I discovered the greatness that is Wet N’ Wild’s Mega Last Lip Color. I have three of them.. maybe four, I don’t know, they’re all swimming at the bottom of my purse right now. I really feel comfortable wearing 970 Purty Persimmon, which is THE perfect red for me. More on the orange side, but not too Ronald McDonald. I wore it all day and it didn’t move. I ate and it never really budged. I did touch it up twice, but nothing crazy. Winner! MAC lipstick has bored me lately, so I’m always on the hunt for something new at the drugstore or at the Inglot counter.

Major Yoko photobomb! @flowerbeauty Tulips 2 Kiss U lipstick ... on TwitpicLast but not least, my TwitPic with my precious Yoko. She wanted to get in on the action! I was sporting my daring lipstick look with Flower Beauty’s Tulips 2 Kiss You.. a bright neon pink that makes men at the mall horny. No, seriously. I heard a man walking behind me like making nasty noises. Gross, but I guess it’s the lipstick’s fault. It’s too sexy for the mall.

My most epic discovery of all was the Zuzu luxe liquid eyeliner in Raven. Let me honestly tell you why this is so amazing if you’ll bear with me here. I have had the worst issues with my eyes lately. The past few years my eyes have become itchy, watery and just really annoying. It’s been a hard task applying eyeliner. The minute I put it on, it runs, spreads and then I have to q-tip it off and do it again. This happens every single day. I went to an optometrist and they told me I needed eye drops for allergies. I did that and it helped for maybe a few days and it started happening again. I have been really frustrated and somewhat depressed over it. I tried creme liner on my upper lid, but it doesn’t look the same as liquid. Bummer. So after buying so many brands of liquid and struggling with it daily, I found one more eye liner that I wanted to try in an unexpected location. My health food store. That’s right! I saw the Zuzu Luxe liner at New Leaf grocery store (sorta like Whole Foods) and I decided to give it a whirl. Glad I whirled. OHMUHGERD…I am in love. This stuff not only LOOKS fierce but I have not had one ounce of itchy or watery mess to deal with. Holy crap.

The Luxe website says: Enriched with vitamins and herbal extracts to gently smooth and protect the delicate eye area. Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. Zuzu Luxe Liquid Eye Liner is Ophthalmologist Tested, Hypo Allergenic, Fragrance Free and Water Resistant.

Yup… I can attest to it. This stuff is for me. I will never use anything else again.

It has been a great week.. and weekend! Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend too… TTYL!
