Chantecaille Spring 2011 Collection

The French cosmetics line Chantecaille is growing in popularity, especially among the younger crowd. Ever since Angelina Jolie was caught applying the Chantecaille lip gloss in the sheer pink shade “Love”, the line has been chatted about in blogs all around the web.

Chantecaille Fall Fashion Week 2011

This spring season, Chantecaille was packing a surprise when they hit the runway at the Peter Pilotto show in London for Fashion Week Fall 2011. According to TeenVogue.com, “Chantecaille makeup artist Lisa Houghton started this crazy-fresh look with Iridescent Eye Shade in Lemongrass, Ecstasy Cheek Shade, and Lilac Rose Eye Shade. Then she topped it off with Brilliant Gloss in Crystalline to give it a shiny appearance and staying power, dabbing dabbed on Menthe Eye Shade in the corners of the eye for definition and shocking IridescentEye Shade in Aqua in the outer corner.”

I love the look myself, but I think that it is a little bit of a “special occasion” look rather than an everyday thing.. unless you have the time, then go for it! Not sure about the Trump-esque comb-over hair style the girls are sporting.

Let’s get on to the spring products, shall we?

Les Macarons Face Palette

Les Macarons Face Palette

This palette, inspired by the delicious and colorful macaroon cookies from France, houses five festive shades to create a beautiful face for the Holidays…wait.. did they just say “holidays”?? Umm.. so apparently this palette is leftover from the holiday season, but the colors are perfect for spring. So, why not, it still applies! This is also a perfect palette for summer traveling.

  • The palette contains an eye shadow for lining in Cassis, a deep plum, with a high concentration of ginseng that enhances skin’s condition and imparts greater elasticity.
  • A highlighting shadow, Caramel, creating pearlescent tones that offer a reflective finish for a weightless, sophisticated look.
  • For cheeks, a happy pink shade in Raspberry, enriched with anti-aging vitamins A, C and E and a creamy Rose highlighter to accentuate cheek and brow bones.
  • Finally, finish the look with a pretty pink Strawberry gloss.

Protection Naturelle SPF 46 PA +++ Powder

Protection Naturelle SPF 46 PA +++ Powder

Don’t ask me why, but I’m dying to try this. I have never tried one of those “powder in the handle” type products before and I am curious to see how this performs. I will need extra sun protection this summer (might be doing a series of skin procedures) and this seems like the perfect carry-on product to take with me on my spring trip to Paris!

“This non-toxic, translucent, high level sunscreen is also skin-balancing, blends perfectly and leaves no chalky residue. Made from new forms of mineral powders that naturally absorb excess surface oil without drying the skin. The formula also includes lauroyl lysine, a naturally occurring amino acid that conditions skin. The ultra fine, weightless texture is a result of new soft focus mineral optics that visually smooth skin without adding extra coverage or a mask effect.” – Chantecaille.com

Les Délices de Roses / Lip Palette

Another awesome travel palette that has flattering shades ranging from a light pink, to a deep rose to a coral rose. Hydrate and soothe your lips all day with Aloe Vera, Japanese Green Tea, Vitamin E and Gino extracts.
