Bad Review for Maybelline Lash Stiletto
Looked everywhere at Target for my “BFF in a tube”, Lash Stylist by Maybelline. Nowhere to be found. I called my mother immediately, who lives about 30 miles away in another town, and I asked her to go to her nearst drug store and search for my trusty mascara and to buy at least two tubes. “Nope”, she said when she called me back, “They don’t have it, and I checked Target and Longs.” I went online and had a virtual fit. I found the mascara on beauty.com, and I noticed it was on sale. Unfortunately, I can’t find the mascara online right now. I haven’t checked ebay.. =(
So I ordered two tubes along with a bunch of really expensive Frederik Fekkai hair stuff, and ripped open the package to make sure my “BFF in a tube” arrived safely. Yup.. it was fine, and I had not used it for about a month since I could not find it anywhere.. and I noticed that.. nothing, nothing, nothing compares to it. I couldn’t believe how much better my lashes looked, and they even looked a lot darker. I was so happy, yet scared that my little friend in a tube is going to go bye-bye.
Sure enough, I saw the new Maybelline Stiletto Ultimate Length Washable Mascara (Say that 10 times fast) and I am angered that my little lovely Lash Stylist is going to bid me one last farewell.
Well, there it is. Here is the description:

Ok.. so nothing special here. The brush is red, which is hot, but not making ME hot.. so I wrote a letter to our friends at Maybelline about how pissed I am. hahha.. well, I was nice, don’t worry. I’ll let you know what happens.
UPDATE: I have tried and approve of Lancome’s Fatale mascara. It gives similar results than that of Lash Stylist, the only thing I don’t like about it is the glossy finish and the comb does not do a very good job of distributing the product evenly. As far as the end result goes.. it’s almost the same. Fatale is expensive, but I found a tube on ebay a little cheaper than drug store prices. If you have found anything similar to Lash Stylist, let me know and I can post it here.

I miss Lash Sylist a lot but I have also have found if you use the comb from Lash Stylist with Rimmel Lash Maxx (in a black and pink tube) it works pretty well.
How ironic? I bought the Rimmel Lash Maxxx a few months ago and did the same thing…just used the comb from Lash Stylist. I was on here looking to see if anyone had come up with anything better. This is a temporary fix, but I sure do wish I could just get the Lash Stylist back.
I have also been trying this method out.. and it makes me mad that Rimmel can’t just copy the Maybelline brush! The brush that comes with the Rimmel Lash Maxxx is terrible.

Soooooo sad about the lash stylist, i would say “you have no idea” but based on your writing you know EAXCTLY! anyway, i was out this weekend and the mascara gods have bid me in the right direction- and that was RIGHT towards Maybellines “The Falsies Volum’ Express” you will fall in love with this tube- i too will search online for the lash stylist for just a bit longer. annnd the Rimmel Lash Maxx, not the same- i bought some and it was NOT good. -A
I hate to hear this!! My sister and I both LOVE Maybelline Lash Stylist. I’ve tried Stiletto and it’s nowhere near as good. I did, however, keep the brush from my last tube of Stylist and I find that if I use it to comb my lashes before applying and then use it with whatever mascara I have, it works pretty well. Not as good as the real thing, but I guess I have no other choice.
OMG, i searched everywhere, and nearly cried when they man said it has been replaced with stilletto. I have just ordered two of ebay costing only £3! How dare they replace it! :’( x
i 2 have tried EVERYTHING from ebay to sephora to all drugstore brands and NOTHING has compard to this ive paid $$ rannging from 5$ all the way tp 80$… yes 80 and now iam using latisse clinque has a newer one out i found w the same almost as lash stliest i forgot its calld whipser?..poop haha but its a white tube green comb wand just go to the counter and see for urself thats the CLOSET i can find and its 16$ not bad i usually dont like clinique but let me know if u also like it?
Rimmel used to have a similar mascara that I used a few years ago, but that got discontinued. That was why I converted to Lash Stylist and now it’s discontinued, too! Why don’t people realize that comb mascaras make your lashes look better than anything else?
Boo to Maybelline for discountinuing Lash Stylist…
Yes, there are more important things women need to tend to, but our eyelashes need to look beautiful! Afterall, don’t they say your eyes are the windows to your soul. I want my soul to be framed FABULOUS!!!
See response below from Maybelline when I emailed their customer service. Looks like there are more fans of Lash Stylist than their marketing dept realizes. Keep writing, posting, what ever. Maybe they will bring it back.
