Amazing Chinese Oolong Tea SCAM.. read please~!

On January 29, 2009, in Misc., Opinion, by Krista Dior

I fell victim to one of those myspace ads that say ” Amazing Chinese Oolong Tea Diet ” and I ended up purchasing the tea.. like the idiot that I am.. and got totally scammed!! I am hoping that people will run across this blog and also post experiences so we can put an end to this crap!

I ordered the tea for $22.95 with my Citibank check card, which has a Mastercard logo, so I can use it as a “credit card”. Since I ordered this in the Summer of 2008.. months ago… I have forgotten what exactly it was that I read on the website before I purchased, but I do not remember joining some sort of “Oolong Tea Club” or membership. I received three boxes of Kakoo Oolong tea, which looked pretty generic to me, and ended up finding out on the Kakoo Tea official website that one tea box is worth 62 cents if purchased wholesale. Wow..so I knew back then that I was ripped off, but I wasn’t surprised. I figured it was my own damned fault for purchasing something off of one of those fake ads and I learned my lesson.

So just yesterday, I received a collections letter from SKO Brenner American, Inc. stating that I owe “Amazing Chinese Diet Tea” a whopping $179.85. In the letter, they did not state exactly why I owed that amount or what I purchased. If they could only just provide an explanation!?!? There was an envelope included in the letter which asked me to pay this amount immediately. Umm.. what am I paying for? I never received any more of the crappy tea (eh.. Oolong really has a crappy flavor, in my opinion.. or maybe it was just crappy tea to begin with!) and I never received any emails or letters regarding the tea besides a freaking collections note.

Needless to say, I am pissed off. What the hell is this scam? I really want to hear if anyone else has gone through this. I’ve written them a letter and I am sending it off today.

UPDATE: 3/8/2009

After writing the BBB ( Better Business Bureau ) this situation was resolved. The “account” with Amazing Chinese Diet Tea was closed and I am apparently not going to be bothered by them anymore. =)

Fred is in my shower… Frederic Fekkai, that is.

On January 24, 2009, in Hair, by Krista Dior

I am an advid hair destroyer. I used to bleach my hair white , and that took a major toll on my overall texture and health of my hair. I’ve tried a lot of hot oil treatments, heavy conditioners with heat, and really haven’t seen much of a difference. I’ve been using Frederic Fekkai on a regular basis and I am noticing that slowly, but surely, my hair is getting stronger.

I tried the Technician Color Care line from Fekkai, and I really didn’t notice much going on. The shampoo and conditioner really didn’t perform the way I thought it would, my hair color was fading fast, and I then switched back to Pureology’s Hydrate line. Although Pureology is really fantastic for helping keep your haircolor vibrant, I didn’t feel like I was getting enough moisture. My search went on further…

I ordered the Fekkai Shea Butter moisturizing conditioner and the matching Shea Butter shampoo, and these are my new loves. The first thing I noticed was the amazing scent of the shampoo. Very feminine scent with a fresh laundry lingering smell. At $23 per 8 oz. bottle, you are gonna be paying quite a bit for this line, but at this time, my hair sucks and I am willing to try anything at any price. If you can afford this stuff, you need to try it out. It’s a beautiful line and I will purchase again.

I also use the Frederic Fekkai salon color hair dye, which arrives in a very classy package with everything you need, including good gloves and application brush, mixing bowl and great conditioners. You won’t find any crazy colors in this line, everything is basic and pretty conservative. For $30 per box, make sure you will have enough to cover your whole head. I have thick, shoulder length hair and I didn’t have enough product to dye my entire head. It was scary. Although I do like the product, I probably will not purchase again due to the price.

Anyone else share the love for Fred?

First off, let me just tell you that Maybelline finally emailed me back. They told me that the stores are the ones choosing to not re-order Lash Stylist… and I am sorry, but I don’t believe that one bit. How could stores across the nation all decide not to carry the same product? If Target is affiliated with Rite Aid, then maybe I would understand, but my mom has gone through hell in a handbasket looking at drug stores for my mascara. Even my friends have looked around. I think that (this is just me) someone or a group of individuals got hurt using it and are suing Maybelline. Lawsuits are usually frequent in the world of cosmetics.. I know this first-hand and I could tell you stories that would make you laugh for weeks.. people sue for the dumbest shit. So,  I will give this about 6 more months and if I still do not see my Lash Stylist in the store, I will assume some idiot poked their eye out.

On a much lighter note, one of the most amazing limited edition collections is coming to MAC. Hello Kitty. Yes.. effing Hello Kitty. That cute little pussy has been around since the year I was born in 1976, and I am truly excited to be invited to the unveiling of the product line at the MAC store at Valley Faire mall in San Jose. Once I get my paws on it, I will be posting pics. I don’t even know what it looks like, to be honest.

Due to hard economic turmoil.. I haven’t been makeup shopping, so I am sorry there haven’t been much updates. I saw the Dame Edna line at MAC and I wanted to cry.. I love that drag queen! What MAC needs to do is push the limits with Porn Star limited edition body foundation.. or something like that.  Jenna Jamison line? Dude.. I know marketing.

By the way, MAC has updated their site and it’s looking amazing so far. MAC Cosmetics

Urban Decay. Ok.. so I love the line, and I really love the Primer Potion. What could be better than Primer Potion with a bit of sparkle and a dash of color? YESSS.. it’s here.

Urban Decay Primer Potion Sin

It’s called Eyeshadow Primer Potion – Sin. Here is the marketing text for your enjoyment:

What it does:
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion – Sin combines incredible staying power with a shimmering champagne hue that complements almost any eyeshadow. This two-in-one beauty miracle can be worn alone to give eyes just a hint of tint for when you’re in a hurry or in need of that “no makeup” look.

I am SURE this is going to rock.. but you never know. I am going to purchase ASAP.

Welp.. hoping everyone is having a good year so far. If you hear about an amazing new product.. let me know!

Ask me questions!! Don’t be shy!!

On January 16, 2009, in Misc., by Krista Dior

Hey… what the hell is wrong with you? You’ve got the best makeup artist in the world (umm.. kidding, but wishing) waiting to hear from you. Please ask me a question and I will give you my spectacular answer.

By the way, has anyone tried E.L.F Cosmetics? I signed up to be an affiliate, but I know nothing about the quality. I found a reviews page, but I am too tired to read it right now. LOL!

Bad Review for Maybelline Lash Stiletto

Other Comb Wand Mascaras

Looked everywhere at Target for my “BFF in a tube”, Lash Stylist by Maybelline. Nowhere to be found. I called my mother immediately, who lives about 30 miles away in another town, and I asked her to go to her nearst drug store and search for my trusty mascara and to buy at least two tubes. “Nope”, she said when she called me back, “They don’t have it, and I checked Target and Longs.” I went online and had a virtual fit. I found the mascara on beauty.com, and I noticed it was on sale. Unfortunately, I can’t find the mascara online right now. I haven’t checked ebay.. =(

So I ordered two tubes along with a bunch of really expensive Frederik Fekkai hair stuff, and ripped open the package to make sure my “BFF in a tube” arrived safely. Yup.. it was fine, and I had not used it for about a month since I could not find it anywhere.. and I noticed that.. nothing, nothing, nothing compares to it. I couldn’t believe how much better my lashes looked, and they even looked a lot darker. I was so happy, yet scared that my little friend in a tube is going to go bye-bye.

Sure enough, I saw the new Maybelline Stiletto Ultimate Length Washable Mascara (Say that 10 times fast) and I am angered that my little lovely Lash Stylist is going to bid me one last farewell.

Maybelline Lash Stiletto

Well, there it is. Here is the description:

The only mascara that does for lashes what stilettos do for legs.

-The Grip & Extend brush grasps each lash and coats from every angle
-Elastic formula stretches lashes for provocative length
-Pro-Vitamin B-5 formula conditions and smoothes for black-patent shine
-Contact lens safe and Ophthalmologist tested

Ok.. so nothing special here. The brush is red, which is hot, but not making ME hot.. so I wrote a letter to our friends at Maybelline about how pissed I am. hahha.. well, I was nice, don’t worry. I’ll let you know what happens.

UPDATE: I have tried and approve of Lancome’s Fatale mascara. It gives similar results than that of Lash Stylist, the only thing I don’t like about it is the glossy finish and the comb does not do a very good job of distributing the product evenly. As far as the end result goes.. it’s almost the same. Fatale is expensive, but I found a tube on ebay a little cheaper than drug store prices. If you have found anything similar to Lash Stylist, let me know and I can post it here.
