Caveman couture? The Chanel Fall / Winter 2010-2011  Ready-to-Wear collection had me rolling on the floor…not laughing, but coughing up hairballs.  I am only posting things that I thought were decent from the collection, you can view the entire collection yourself here: Chanel Show Photos

Grab your Furminator and take a look:
Chanel Fall / Winter 2010-2011 Ready-to-Wear collection
All of the models basically had the same makeup on.. dramatic black shadow on top lid, muted eyebrows, heavy black liner on outer corners of eyes, skintone / peach blush, muted lips. Chanel Fall / Winter 2010-2011 Ready-to-Wear collection
Will you wear those boots this Fall / Winter? Will you carry a comb just in case they get mangled?

Fur skirts.. I am really loving the boots & jacket on the right.

Fur pants.. I have been really wanting a fitted bomber jacket like these and haven’t been able to find anything.

Ok, now this I can see myself wearing! Love both of these!

Best dresses in the show! I absolutely adore the cinched waist style dresses and the colorful patterns.

As far as the makeup goes… wow, a little depressing. I am aware that the clothing is supposed to be the focal point, but I was hoping for some really awesome insight as to what the color palette would be for Fall / Winter. I’ll keep digging around for more shows!

The postman arrived with my lovely black box of MAC, and inside were many gems that I’ve been anticipating for a week. Two of those items were better than expected, the MAC Viva Glam lipstick collection, featuring my idol, Cyndi Lauper and that other chick, Lady Gaga.
Mac Viva Glam Cyndi and Gaga
Both sheer, both sexy as hell.

MAC Viva Glam Swatches
I know that red is all the rage this spring, but this isn’t the red that you think it is. The MAC Viva Glam Cyndi is very wearable and would probably go well with most skintones. You could kick this red outta the ballpark with a rich red lipliner, which I will experiment with during the week.

MAC Viva Glam Cyndi
This pic was taken right after work..didn’t have time to touch up my face, but you get the picture.

The next shade, MAC Viva Glam Gaga, is going to be a pretty hard color to pull off, given it’s intense blue/pink hue. My makeup for the day did not go with this lip at all! Even my red tank top would need to be changed to pull this lip off. (See below)

MAC Viva Glam Gaga
Ewww no! I’ll have to change my entire outfit and eye look to go with this one.

This lipstick might not look on darker skintones, it’s very bubble gum pink! This is something you would probably need to try on in the store in order to see if it fit you.

MAC Viva Glam Lady Gaga

Overall, I am very pleased with the texture, the feel and the look of these Viva Glam lipsticks. I give them 5 stars each!!! Well done, MAC!

Mac Haul
Other purchases I made were : MAC Pro Palette for Blush, the 222 brush for the crease (I lost mine!), Impeccable Brow Pencil in Dirty Blonde and the Penultimate Brow Marker. We will see how these work out, I already broke a blush trying to de-pot it from the compact because I was impatient and didn’t want to wait to find the wire clippers. Do an internet search for videos and blogs about how to de-pot your MAC products! Make sure you have all of the tools before you start de-potting because I totally wasted a blush! I ended up dropping some alcohol back into the blush compact and pressing the blush back down into the pan, but it looks really crappy.

For those who don’t dare ink their precious skin, there is a fierce solution for those who want to wear a tattoo for a day or two without the painful commitment.  Chanel’s Global Creative Director of Chanel makeup, Peter Philips, hand drew these tattoo designs himself, creating 55 exclusive temporary tattoos that were featured in the 2010 fashion show in Paris last year. These tattoos, which feature Oriental cherry blossoms, sparrows (or swallows, it’s a bird, okay?) , chains and more, can be mixed and matched for various looks and effects.

I personally think these tattoos are damn hot. At [...] Continue Reading…

I’ve mentioned this several times, but I did go to Sephora and plop down over $100 bucks to try out some of the newest and best-selling items. Needless to say, $100 doesn’t take you very far when you are at Sephora, at least for me.

Let’s start with the hyped up products first:
Tarina Tarantino Makeup Line by Sephora

Okay, this is a firm NO for me, a huge Tarina fan. I am completely disappointed by the quality of this line. It seems like the developers spent more time on the packaging than the stuff that’s inside. I tried everything, hoping to [...] Continue Reading…

5 Cute Spring Products from Mark. Cosmetics

#1 : mark Gloss Gorgeous Stay On Lip Stain (Only $9)
When you use the traditional water-based lipstain (like Benefit’s Benetint stain, or CoverGirl Outlast Lip stain) you always have to use a gloss over the top for a more comfortable feel and moist look.. or else you end up licking your lips all day until they are chapped! mark. Cosmetics has a bit of a great solution for those lipstains which require an extra step! The new Gloss Gorgeous Stay on Lip Stain looks like a gloss, but stays on like a lip stain! The product features a [...] Continue Reading…

I spent a good deal on my weekend trip to Sephora looking for a new foundation. I am always on the lookout for something THICK and with a full coverage. After trying products like MAC Studio Tech and even pancake makeup (ewww!) I was either too greasy, too matte, or just couldn’t find the right color to match my skin tone. The problem sometimes with a heavier foundation is that it is creating problems while you wear it, like acne, clogged pores, more oil secretion, etc. so that you need more of the product just to cover the damage [...] Continue Reading…

New Design – Same Stuff!

Nope, you are not going crazy! KristaDior.com has been re-designed into a fab new place to be! I decided a few days ago that I needed a bit of an update, a little more sophisticated look, so I went for it. After fixing many bugs and tweaking fonts, colors and spacing, I finally figured it all out. There are probably some issues here and there that I gotta fix, but I went ahead and launched the new site anyway. The navigation is now on the right, in case you wondered where the heck it went.

Updates to come soon.. [...] Continue Reading…

Today is Valentine’s Day and I am getting ready to go out to din-din with my special man. I received a shipment from Revlon to try their new products: Revlon Fantasy Length Lashes and Revlon Color Allure glue-on nails. I am also going to review and post a video on how I use the L’Oreal Telescopic Explosion mascara (globe brush style).
Thank you, Revlon!

The point of these products is to make life a bit easier and to reduce expensive salon costs. The lashes are very natural-looking and easy to apply, the nails are not long and perfect for just wearing [...] Continue Reading…
